BLOGging for real.

Saturday, August 20, 2005
This is blog day two.
Things are never quiet enough here for me to really get into writing. This type of work is better left to sleepless nights.
And, I have my share of those.
Today the earth will roast, at least in this area. Gonna be 110 to 115. That means I’ll spend the afternoon lying in bed watching Tiger, VJ and Phil sweat it out. Thinking about giving up golf; that will change once the earth cools a little.

A friend of mine and I exchange words (literally), and now, I am pondering the word insouciance – Hmmm…I could use some of that. Except it might give me a hangover. The only way I could feel like that (insouciant) is to drink what Dean Martin drank...tea-hee.
Of course it's debatable that he really drank all that much.
Wonder if 'the sauce' is really "souce"? Getting soused certainly is...hope you are following my insouciant meanderings...giggle...hic

BLUEDENIM INK

I'll never start this BLOG unless I see something in print first. These are some thoughts I wrote the other day.

I was like that when I was very young. Very Catholic. Very religious. But life made me question things.
I liked Descartes. I could visualize, no I could feel his idea of demi-urges - or thoughts - floating around in the universe.

Later I decided I was agnostic or maybe even atheist.
I'm never sure of things.
Henley, in his Invictus, said, "I am the master of my fate.
And, ummm, who wrote Thanatopsis?
William Cullen Bryant?
Yes...the meditation on death, that assumes we will one day just push up daisies.
I took a liking to these poems as a very young child and never really understood them until later - much later.
I am curious about Karma or cyclical beliefs.
I love to ponder things like: maybe memories of past lives are stored in our genes.
But, in truth, life itself keeps me too busy to contemplate matters of the universe. And eternal rest sometimes seems more welcome than a heaven.
I just wish I had the time.

But this

takes up my days...
